Research Interests:
Dr. Brewer has research interests in the prevention and early detection as well as the treatment of ovarian cancer. She is working with engineers to develop new technology to evaluate the ovary for cancer and precancer.

Biography:
Dr. Brewer earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine at the State University of New York at Syracuse and completed her residency at Oregon Health Sciences in Portland. She completed her fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She also holds a master’s degree in statistical analysis and clinical research design from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor.

Interest Statement:
Dr. Brewer is a nationally recognized gynecologic oncologist. She offers highly personalized care for women with gynecologic malignancies, such as ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer. Dr. Brewer also provides consultations about cancer prevention, particularly ovarian cancer.

Prior to joining the Health Center, Dr. Brewer practiced at the Arizona Cancer Center at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she was the director of the cancer center’s gynecologic oncology division. Prior to that, she was the division director of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. Dr. Brewer is a member of many national organizations and is widely published in scholarly journals.
