John A. Taylor, III, M.D.
Dr. Taylor received his BA in Biology from Lafayette College
in 1990 and his MD from Columbia University College of
Physicians & Surgeons in 1994. He completed his surgical
training at the Squire Urological Clinic of Columbia
University’s Presbyterian Medical Center in 2000. A commissioned
officer in the United States Navy (LCDR) since 1990, he served
on active duty as a staff urologist at Walter Reed Army Medical
Center and assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed
Services University of Health Science from 2000-03. While at
Walter Reed he was an active investigator in the Department of
Defense’s Center for Prostate Disease Research.

Research Interests
- Current areas of research include molecular pathways in
bladder cell survival with emphasis on the relationship to
bladder cancer.
Interest Statement
Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Urological Association
and the American College of Surgeons. He has authored many
publications as well as contributed to book chapters. Dr. Taylor
has extensive training in urologic cancer surgery and urinary
tract reconstruction as well as voiding dysfunction/urodynamics.
Dr. Taylor practices general urology with a focus on the
treatment of urologic cancers and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
