Bruce Brenner, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Brenner earned his bachelor’s degree at the New Jersey
Institute of Technology in Newark, where he graduated with
highest honors. He received his medical degree from Washington
University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo. He completed his
residency and surgical research fellowship at New Jersey Medical
School in Newark, and a surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell
Park Cancer Institute, State University of New York at Buffalo.

Research Interests
- Dr. Brenner has research interests in the genetic
origins of rectal and colon cancers.
Interest Statement
Dr. Brenner has a special interest in treating colon and
rectal cancers as well as a strong research interest into the
genetic origins of these cancers. Dr. Brenner also has expertise
in the treatment of other gastrointestinal cancers including
esophageal, gastric, pancreatic and liver, in addition to
treating cancers of the skin and soft tissues, such as sarcoma
and melanoma. Before coming to the Health Center, Dr. Brenner
served for four years as an assistant professor of surgery at
the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he had
teaching responsibilities and served on numerous committees.
During that time, he served as a staff physician at Froedtert
Memorial Lutheran Hospital and Clement J. Zablocki Veterans
Administration Medical Center. Dr. Brenner is certified by the
American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical
Examiners. He’s been recognized with many academic accolades
throughout his career and is a member of several professional
societies. He’s published extensively in medical journals and
other professional publications.
