Biree Andemariam, M.D.
Dr. Andemariam received her undergraduate degree from
Princeton University and medical degree from Tufts University
School of Medicine where she graduated with research honors. She
completed her internship, residency and fellowship training at
New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Medical College of
Cornell University in New York City. She has received several
research honors including an Amgen Research Fellowship Award for
her work in treating refractory and relapsed lymphoma, a
Clinical Research Feasibility Fund Award for her research in
hemophilia, and a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service
Award. She was also a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research
Scholar. She is currently pursuing a master’s in clinical
investigation at Weill Cornell Medical College.

- Benign and malignant blood disorders.
Interest Statement
Dr. Andemariam’s areas of interest include hemophilia and
other bleeding and clotting disorders with a particular focus on
their impact on women’s health, as well as sickle cell disease
and malignant hematological disorders including leukemia,
lymphoma, multiple myeloma and Hodgkin’s disease. Lea’s
Foundation for Leukemia Research is financially supporting her
clinical and translational research of blood disorders.
