What Is Integrative Medicine?
Integrative Medicine combines the best of conventional medicine with alternative and complementary therapies to help women achieve optimal health – in body, mind and spirit.

At the UConn Health Center, services include Reiki and naturopathic medicine. These safe therapies promise real benefits.

Care is provided by highly trained, board-certified professionals with many years experience in health care fields. They are committed to providing individualized, quality care in a comfortable environment.

Our Services

photo of mitch kennedy, n.d.Naturopathic Medicine is provided by Mitch Kennedy, N.D., a nationally board-certified and licensed naturopathic physician who specializes in women's health. Dr. Kennedy is trained in three distinct types of medicine: natural medicine, conventional medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Kennedy offers the best researched and most effective natural treatments including:

  • Clinical nutrition
  • Herbal medicine
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Acupuncture
  • Homeopathy
  • Diet and lifestyle counseling

His goal is to identify the root causes of symptoms and help patients heal and restore balance. He works closely with each patient to develop individualized health programs to prevent disease and increase vitality. Dr. Kennedy can help patients with:

  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Headaches
  • Menopause management
  • PMS
  • Pain and fatigue

Reiki is provided by Libbe W. Clarke, R.N., a Reiki practitioner and Reiki Master/Teacher. Libbe is also a certified advanced hypnotherapist (Ph.D. candidate) and a registered nurse.

Reiki is a Japanese word representing “universal life force energy.” It is based on the belief that when spiritual energy is channeled through a Reiki practitioner, the patient’s spirit is healed, which in turn, heals the physical body.

Reiki has several benefits:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Stress reduction
  • Increased energy
  • Enhanced well-being

Reiki can be useful for anyone, especially those recovering from illness, experiencing stress or enduring the side effects from medications or surgery.
