Coach Calhoun Bikes to Health Center to Promote Cancer Challenge Bike Ride

FARMINGTON, CONN. – University of Connecticut men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun will be biking to the main entrance of the UConn Health Center tomorrow, Thursday, May 17 at noon and leading a pep rally in the hospital’s center courtyard to raise awareness about the upcoming Big Y Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride on June 9.

This exciting cycling event will take place in Simsbury and will include rides of 10, 25 and 50 miles. Proceeds will benefit the Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at the UConn Health Center and Coaches vs. Cancer. Coach Calhoun, a cancer survivor and grateful patient of the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center, is coming to the Health Center to help enlist riders and volunteers for the event.

The Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center is committed to providing expert compassionate care while continuously pursuing the newest discoveries in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cures of tomorrow.
